When Adam and I got married we never really discussed the exact number of children we wanted to have. Some couples decide right away that they are going to have 2.5 children, no more, no less. After we had our daughter almost 6 years ago, I was convinced she would be an only child. Don't get me wrong, I love being her mother and Skylar really was a joy to be around (most of the time). But I tell ya, once she hit 2- someone invaded her little body. I really started to think that maybe there were bodysnatchers, maybe some unearthly being had somehow found its way into my sweet angel and was now her "host". Needless to say, when we got through her 2's, we decided we did indeed want another child.
Then came Ronan- we didn't know if we were having a boy or girl and were very happy when he popped out (okay, so "popped out" may not be exactly the way it happened). We were content, our plate was full and we thought that 2 children suited us just fine. Then came August of 2008- I had gone to Texas with the kids to visit with my in-laws. Adam was home alone, missing me terribly and decided to borrow the movie, The Notebook, from our friend Laura. When I returned home, he asked if I would like to watch it. "Of course", I replied, "I LOVE The Notebook", that Ryan Groslin is super hot and their love story is sweet and romantic and the kind of story you hope you can tell your kids someday. Soooo, we watched it together....
AND 9 months later Whitton was born. He was a pleasant surprise, wouldn't you agree?
